2. PHP is free of cost to use and easily downloadable, on the other hand ASP being a product of Microsoft is not free of charge, even to use each component of it you have to registered first and it is not free.

1. PHP file is not different from other common files that you might be familiar with them.
2. You can use readymade programs to open PHP file like Notepad in Windows and Text-Edit in Mac.
3. If you want to open PHP file in Notepad, then first open Notepad.
4. Select the folder but you come to know that there is no PHP file in the list of files.
5. In order to see that PHP file you have to change extinction of all files, and click open to read that PHP file.
6. If you want to open PHP file in TextEdit, then you have to just navigate the folder that where the PHP file is located and click open.
7. There is also readymade software which facilitates easy way to read and open PHP files.

Thus, using of PHP as scripting language is very easy and also I mention above that it is an open source easily available but at no cost, it can sometime used as mingle language with HTML for commercial purposes too.
